Meet Jax, Our City of ABQ Pet of the Week

Jax (ID# A 1210749) is a 2 year old male, tan & white Smooth Coated Chihuahua mix weighing 13 pounds. He’s a shy sensitive young guy yet fun loving and he loves to be a couch potato. Jax enjoys taking walks, he has played with other little friends but he truly loves to curl up next to a person and just “be” with them. He's also very comforting to other shy and/or mellow little fur-kids. When you meet him  ask to go to our volunteer room where his favorite place is the “bid dog” bed. There’s room for two so lay down with him and give him a few minutes to warm up because he can be a little shy at first. Jax is looking for a home that is calm and quiet. Most children are scary to him so a home without kids would be great but or one with children 16 or older that know the proper way to treat tiny companions. He’d also be fine with an older mature person that will take him for an easy walk, allow a little romp in the back yard but then let him be your shadow all day and all night. He will need just a little help in the potty training department as most dogs do when coming into a new home. Just have a little patience and perhaps use crate training. Like any relationship what you put into it will pay off 10 times over and this little guy is such a sweet lover boy that gives super kisses. Come in to meet this handsome sweetie pie at our Eastside shelter, 8920 Lomas Blvd NE.
