Meet Gunther, our 'Pet of the Week'.

Gunther  (A1766821) is a 1 year & 2 month old, male black Labrador Retriever mix weighing 45 pounds.  This beautiful boy is loving, smart and energetic. He came to us a little shy but has blossomed after getting lots of love and affection from our volunteers. He’d like his very own forever person to continue showering him with love and kisses. He’s looking for someone that will give him daily exercise; walks and hikes would be fun. He needs to be an “on leash” hiker because there is no bird in New Mexico that doesn’t need to be chased
right now! Some of us think he may have some Australian Kelpie in his gene mix
..just look at those ears and Kelpies think everything that moves needs to be chased & contained. Gunther shouldn’t live with chickens because they might be dinner. He loves to run around the yard and chases tennis balls but no fetching yet. He can make fun out of almost anything even a bucket to grab and run around the yard with, very creative in his fun. J He’s smart and eager to show you his pretty sits. All of our potential adoptees should meet other dogs before adoption to ensure everybody is happy and we think Gunther would do best as an only dog. Children over 12 that understand his energy, love of chase and are conscientious with their pets should be fine. Are you looking for your prince charming and/or best bud then Gunther is ready and eager to make a date for introductions. Your life long bestie will be found at the Eastside shelter, 8920 Lomas Blvd NE.
