Albuquerque has been identified as the most underrated destination in New Mexico.

"While Santa Fe tends to get all the credit in New Mexico for being the arts and culture mecca of the state, underrated Albuquerque may be the dark horse winner in terms of the overall experience. You can kayak along the Rio Grande, partake in a craft brewing scene that has exploded in recent years, or check out award-winning restaurants like Mary & Tito’s Cafe (and for cheap). And if you go during the Balloon Fiesta, you’ll behold sights that are likely unrivaled in the rest of the U.S.
Must do: Pay a visit to Sandia Peak Tramway to make your way out to the mountains."
