Former RNC chair Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President-elect Donald Trump, hinted at a potential high-profile new role during an exclusive interview with the New York Post published on Saturday (January 11).
“I’m excited to share something that will be very forward-facing and allow me to amplify the accomplishments of the incoming Trump administration in the next couple of weeks,” Trump said.
The former RNC chair claimed she's the embodiment of why women should trust her father-in-law during his upcoming administration.
“This is a man who cares about women,” Lara told the New York Post. “And I tell you that as a woman who came into this family … from a background where I had no ability to relate to the Trump family — meaning a business family whose name people knew around the world.
“Donald Trump helped me get to where I am today. And he’s a constant champion for women with whom he surrounds himself.”
Lara announced she withdrew from consideration to replace Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio in December, instead teasing another "big announcement" in January.
“After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I have decided to remove my name from consideration for the United States Senate,” she wrote on her X account at the time. “I could not have been more honored to serve as RNC co-chair during the most high-stakes election of our lifetime and I’m truly humbled by the unbelievable support shown to me by the people of our country, and here in the great state of Florida. I have read so many of your kind messages and I cannot thank you enough.”
The 42-year-old previously said she would "100% consider" replacing Rubio, who was nominated as the secretary of state for her father-in-law's administration, while resigning as co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
