Meet Priscilla, our Pet of the week and find out about the $10 adoption!

Priscilla (ID# A 1772614) is a 3 year old, female black & white Border Collie mix weighing 41 pds.  This very pretty gal has a gentle soft side yet true to her breed is active, smart and eager to learn. She’s looking for a family on the active side ready to take her for daily walks. We don’t know if she’s gone hiking but she’s eager to try---on leash of course! Priscilla would benefit from a basic training class with her new person/family to refine her leash skills, have fun with her person and learn some tricks. She already knows sit and would love to show you. Our staff says Priscilla would be good with children 8 or over that will enjoy an active breed. We don’t know if Priscilla has an experience with or around other dogs so as always bring your entire family along (children and any other dog) to meet your prospective pet. We want to make sure everyone is happy and well matched. This pretty lady is a great age and she’s ready to leave shelter life behind. Come to the Eastside location, 8920 Lomas Blvd to meet lovely Miss Priscilla.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department and Animal Humane New Mexico are hosting a joint adoption event January 20 – 21 in preparation for the 2018 Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dog. Those born in the Year of the Dog are excellent companions known to be loyal, honest, friendly, intelligent, and faithful. Both organizations recognize these traits in our four-legged friends and want adoptable dogs and cats to start their year on the right paw with a forever family.

During the Year of the Dog event, all pets at Animal Humane New Mexico and Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department will be available for a $10 adoption fee that includes their necessary vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration. Find your good fortune when you adopt during the Year of the Dog.
