Chaco (ID# 1776644) is 1 year & 1 month old, male Labrador Retriever mix weighing 42 pounds. This super handsome guy is young, playful and energetic. He’s not quite sure about that thing called a leash—it’s kinda scary when it’s being put over his head but once it’s on he’s ready to go! Our sometimes louder shelter environment is a little stressful for Chaco. He likes our quieter play yard or volunteer room. He’s looking for a people that are more active like him. Daily walks are a must; maybe a hike or jog would be fun. He enjoys toys especially tossing them up in the air and chasing them as they fall. He loves treats which makes training easier. Like any young energetic dog of his breed basic training class will make everyone happy. Chaco already knows “sit”. He’d like to show off new tricks. What a fun way to bond with your new best friend and help him have perfect manners too. Our staff says Chaco will be good with children 12 or over that can understand why he may be shy with leashing and as always if you have another dog bring him/her along with the whole family to meet Chaco prior to adoption so everyone is happy with the new family member. Hurry over to our Eastside shelter, 8920 Lomas Blvd NE and ask to take Chaco out to the play yard to toss a toy and take a few moments so you and Chaco get to know one another.
